Why Choose One-On-One Coaching?

Coaching to help business owners, leaders and entrepreneurs in business effectiveness and personal effectiveness.

First, we will work to find clarity in the typical business effectiveness areas. All areas of business effectiveness fall into the broader categories of Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Human Resources, Leadership Development, Systems Implementation, Strategic Planning, Financial Management, and Exit Planning / Succession Planning. We will identify strengths and weakness in these key areas. We will further identify sound unique action plans for your business success.

We will work to get these areas functioning properly and smoothly creating less stress. These areas can be related to weak profits, sluggish sales, cash flow challenges, people problems, or working too many hours, which can result in an unhealthy work-life balance.  Other common challenges we may identify include quality issues, service failures, lack of leadership depth, a poor company culture, and limited company value.

We will work to eliminate problems that may create paralyzed lack of performance.  I have learned this creates stress, grief, concern, anger, frustration, and doubt if left unaddressed.  These negative emotions compound the challenges business owners, leaders and entrepreneurs face and can create new problems of their own; some at work, others at home.

The second distinct area we will work in together is where you know what you should be doing, but you are not doing it – or – when the you are knowingly doing something you should not be doing but continue to do it anyway.  This is what we call “personal effectiveness.”

Personal effectiveness starts with knowing yourself and knowing your own personal vision and goals.  We then move into how you interact with other people of all personality and behavioral types.  Ultimately, personal effectiveness is about behavior that is congruent with values.  It is about being physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually healthy. This requires a lot of effort, commitment and work to maximize personal results, but well worth the investment.

Duration and Meeting Expectations/Deliverables

We will meet twice per month for 1.5 hrs. via technology or in person as applicable. Variations of this structure may be customized for best results. This may include Zoom (or equivalent), phone or in person. Detailed notes to be supplied within 48 hrs. of meeting time with meeting highlights and Action Steps for your success. Depending on the meeting structure, Action Steps may vary in quantity each session.

Foundational Principles

Coaching VS. Therapy or Consulting: Coaching is about the present and future. Therapy is about today and the past to understand and resolve issues and relationships. Consulting focuses on specific deliverables. Coaching is about strengthening competencies for managing personal/professional performance, better executive health and improving bottom line business results.

Who Should Participate

At this level, it is expected that the conversations will be complex and deep. One-on-One Coaching is for those who need the flexibility of support, not tied to a structured training series. This could be a short or long-term support tool, depending on your individual goals. This type of business or leadership development coaching is usually reserved for business owners, new leaders, and entrepreneurs. The fee structure will be assessed on an individual and business needs basis.

Jeff Rogers' Three-Role Approach

1.) Coach by actively and carefully listening to understand.

2.) Coach by asking open-ended questions.

3.) Coach by making observations and challenging you based on what YOU have identified as important.

Learning ObjectiveS

From the start, I will assume you have most of the answers. My role is to help YOU discover the answers. At an appropriate time, I will share my thoughts and suggestions based on my personal experiences both professional and personal. Together, our focus will be based on results, performance, and learning potential.

Work in a Professional, Confidential and Non-Judgmental Environment

From the start, I will assume you have most of the answers. My role is to help YOU discover the answers. At an appropriate time, I will share my thoughts and suggestions based on my personal experiences both professional and personal. Together, our focus will be based on results, performance, and learning potential.

This is NOT about changing your personality. Coaching allows you to gain different communication strategies and strengthen your emotional intelligence. To be clear, this engagement is NOT about peak experiences or quick fixes. This IS primarily a one on one engagement and requires relatively long-term commitment from both of us for best results.

I commit to the highest level of confidentiality. The specifics of our work together is strictly confidential.

The Professional Business Coaches Alliance is my governing body.
